Planning a Utah Wedding? Here’s When to Send Your Invitations
Your Wedding Timeline Starts Here In Utah, wedding days look a little different. From temple sealings to mountain elopements to luxury venue receptions, no two timelines are the same. But one thing all Utah brides need? A clear plan for when to send those invites.
We’re breaking down the ideal mailing window based on your location, whether guests are traveling, and if your day involves multiple events (like a sealing and reception). We’ll even factor in your design process—because whether you’re uploading your own design or working with a designer for a custom suite, your timing matters.

When to Send Wedding Invitations in Utah Here’s the quick cheat sheet:
Local Utah Weddings: Send 6 weeks before the big day
Out-of-State or Destination Weddings (Zion, Moab, Park City): Send 8 weeks before
Holiday or Winter Weddings: Add buffer time—send 8 weeks in advance
Multi-Part Events (sealing, ring ceremony, reception): Send 6–8 weeks, and consider an insert or timeline card
These are based on when you’ll mail your invites—not when you start designing. Let’s talk about that next.
How Long Does It Take to Design Wedding Invitations? If you’re using a Canva-ready template and uploading your own file to print, you can move fast. Like, same-day fast. That gives you freedom to send invites as soon as you’re ready.
But if you want a more hands-on experience (and something that actually matches your wedding aesthetic), working with a designer is the way to go. At Anthology Print, we typically go back and forth with brides for 1–2 days until everything looks perfect. Once it’s approved, we prep for print.
Our turnaround for printed orders is 6–8 business days, plus shipping time. So count backward from your mail-out date and plan accordingly!
Planning a Temple Wedding? Here's Your Timeline Temple weddings often include a sealing (which may be private), a ring ceremony, and a reception. If you’re inviting people to multiple events, clarity is key.
Send invites 6 weeks out for local guests, and 8 weeks for any traveling.
Use a timeline card or event insert to clearly break down each part of the day.
RSVP cards are helpful if your reception is catered or seated.
💡 Tip: Many Utah brides choose a formal main invitation and a casual insert for the ring ceremony or open house.
Getting Married in Southern Utah or a Destination Spot? Zion, Moab, Snow Canyon, and Park City weddings are worth the travel—but your guests need time to plan. We recommend:
Mailing invitations 8 weeks in advance minimum
Consider sending a Save the Date 4–6 months ahead if you have a lot of out-of-state guests
Include travel tips, maps, or lodging suggestions in a details card
Custom design gives you room for creativity here. We can even illustrate your venue or desert landscape into your suite!
Hosting a Big Single Event in Utah? Not every wedding is split across a full day. More and more Utah couples are opting for a single, high-impact celebration: ceremony + dinner + dancing, all in one place.
For these events:
Send invites 6 weeks before your wedding
Work with your designer early to build a cohesive suite that reflects your venue and style
Include RSVP deadlines that give you time for seating charts, meals, and follow-up
